Umbers and Siennas are natural earth pigments containing iron oxide, manganese dioxide and clay minerals. The variation of shades in this range is due to the chemical composition, degree of calcination and mining location. Their semi-transparent properties make them ideal for giving a natural finish to wood stains and protecting wood by absorbing harmful UV rays but also for artists’ paint.
